Synopsis
කතුරු මිතුරු ” චිත්‍රපටය – කථා සාරාංශය
චිත්‍රපටයේ නම කතුරු මිතුරුය. පාරම්පරිකව පැවත එන කරන වැමියෙකු සහ ඇඳුම් මසන්නෙකු (බාබර් සහ ටේලර් කෙනෙකු ) වටා ගෙතුන කථාවකි. දෙදෙනාම තම රාජකාරිය කරනුයේ කතුරෙති. ඔවුන් දෙදෙනා අතර ඇත්තේ “ කතුර ” මුලික කරගත් මිතරු කමකි. ඒ නිසා මෙම චිත්‍රපටය කතුරු මිතුරු වෙයි.
බාබර්ට දුවෙක් සහ ටේලර්ට පුතෙක් සිටි. දෙදෙනාම විශ්ව විද්‍යාල අධ්‍යාපන අවසන් කර ගමට පැමිණෙයි. ඔවුන් උගත් දේ අනුව ඔවුන්ට රැකියා අවස්ථා නැත. එහෙයින් ඔවුන් තමන්ගේ පියවරුන්ගේ රැකියාවට සම්බන්ධ විමට උත්සහ දරයි.
නමුත් මෙම පියවරුන් ඒ පිළිබඳව තමන්ගේ දැඩි අකමැත්ත සහ විරෝධය ප්‍රකාශ කරයි. ඔවුන්ගේ එකම අභිප්‍රාය වනුයේ තම දු දරුවන් පරිපාලන සේවයට සම්බන්ධ උසස් යැයි සැලකෙන රැකියාවක් කරනු දැකිමය.
එත් දරුවන් දෙමාපියන්ගේ සියළු බලාපොරොත්තු සුං කරමින් තම පියවරුන් කරන රැකියාවට සම්බන්ධ වෙයි. නමුත් ඔවුන් ඒ සඳහා වර්තමානයට ගැලපෙන නව මං සොයා යයි. දරුවන් ගමේ සිට නගරයට පැමිණ නවීන රූපලාවන්‍ය සහ ඇඳුම් නිර්මාණ කරනය පිළිබඳව හදාරා, ඒ පිළිබඳව අධ්‍යාපනයක් ලබා එම කේෂත්‍රයේ ඉහලට පැමිණෙයි. ජාත්‍යන්තර සම්මානයෙන් පවා ඔවුන් පිදුම් ලබයි.
සම්ප්‍රදායික ටේලර් සාප්පුවට සහ බාබර් සාප්පුවට පැමිණෙන ගනුදෙනුකරුවන් සමග පවත්වන සම්බන්ධතාවයන් හාස්‍ය මතු කරවන ආකාරයේ ඒවා බැවින් මෙම චිත්‍රපටය හාස්‍යයෝත්පාදක චිත්‍රපටයක් ලෙසම නම් කල හැකිය.
The film `Kathuru Mithuru’ (The summary of the story)
The story tells about traditional and old fashioned barber (Mahendra Perera) and tailor (Jayalath Manoratne) families. Scissor is the common instrument in their profession. As such they have a friendship based on scissors. Thus, this film is called ‘Scissor-Friends’
Both families are living in a hill side village and their children’s are studying in university in the city. Barber’s daughter (Sandani Hettigoda) and tailor’s son (Rasanjana Nadasiri) returned to village after finishing their studies and on the look for job in their field. They don’t get suitable jobs, which engage them in their father’s profession.
Fathers totally disagree with their decision and vehemently oppose it. They want their children to take up a white collar job, which have a respect in the village.
Both are entered into their father’s profession against to fathers wish because they don’t have any other alternative, which shut father’s future hope and dreams for their children. They moved to city to learn latest trends of beauty culture and fashion design to improve and modernize their father’s business. Finally they become highly qualified in their father’s professions and much sought personalities with international repute and acclaims, in their respective fields.
As the interactions and behaviors of the customers who patronize the traditional barbershop and tailor shop are affectionate and very hilarious, this film could be label as a comedy film.
